DYLAN CONNOLLY wants more joy against Galway United tonight.
Bohemians winger Connolly has scored four times against the Tribesmen — more than any other club — most notably the winner in last year’s FAI Cup semi-final.
Although he has been beaten four times in 13 head-to-head meetings, they all came between 2014 and 2016, when he was with Shelbourne and Bray Wanderers.
Connolly, 29, said: “I did score a few winners against Galway, up there, in my time so hopefully I can get a goal, if I play.
“We played them down there in the semi last year and in the league this year and they were two different games, they are well organised and they have a good go, are hard working so we will have a tough game.
“We need to get at them and show that grit and determination we need, to win the ball, go forward, we need to have the right attitude and mindset.”
Connolly came off the bench against Shamrock Rovers on Friday and revealed: “I’ve been carrying an injury for the last month so I haven’t really been training and have been in and out.
“I felt good this last week so hopefully I can get back into the team soon and work hard, be injury-free and kick on.
“I will be ready, I can’t afford not to be with this team and this crowd, you have to work hard or you will be found out.”
Bohs had to dig in for a point on Friday.
Having taken the lead, and squandered opportunities to double it, they were pegged back and spent most of the second half defending.
Connolly said: “I thought the lads did very well, especially in the first half, we played on the front foot and had plenty of chances.
“When you play teams like Rovers you have to take your chances but Rovers were good in the second half and a draw was a fair result.”
Bohs are still without long-term absentees Keith Buckley and Rob Cornwall (both ACL) with Brian McManus and Jordan Flores doubts after limping off on Friday.
Galway boss John Caulfield is serving a touchline ban but Rob Slevin returns from suspension.
