BRAY WANDERERS and St Joseph’s AFC have announced a new ‘pathway arrangement’.

The two clubs had previously joined forces to establish an academy with Niall O’Driscoll, from St Joseph’s, buying a majority shareholding in the Seagulls in 2018.

But relations subsequently became strained with O’Driscoll selling up in 2021 which saw a merger between Bray and fellow League of Ireland club Cabinteely which had its own substantial underage section.

Now, a fresh alliance with Joey’s has been announced.

A Bray statement said: “The clubs have aligned on a pathway arrangement that will provide an opportunity for St. Joseph’s players to access League of Ireland Football through the Bray Wanderers player pathway.

“While this agreement is non-exclusive it does facilitate early engagement, in a structured way, with emerging under age talent at St. Joseph’s and in combination with our other partner clubs gives us the best possible chance of building a highly competitive squad at Under-14 and beyond.

“In addition, we welcome the support of the membership base at St. Joseph’s as we continue to make great strides across all facets of the club.”
