PALESTINE won on and off the pitch at Dalymount Park last night.
President Michael D Higgins was among a near-capacity crowd of 4,390, with more TDs present in the Jodi Stand than for your average Dáil vote.

Outside FAI Cup finals, it was a record attendance for a match involving a women’s club side in Ireland for what was the first time a Palestinian national team had played in Europe.
There were emotional scenes as Irish-Palestinian artist Róisín El Cherif sang the visitors’ national anthem with the rendition of Amhrán na bhFiann provided by Radie Peat.
Cheered on by the raucous support, Palestine were a little over-eager in their approach, incurring the wrath of the referee.
Bohs took a deserved 53rd-minute lead when Katie Malone finished from close range following a corner but Palestine equalised through Sara Kord after a free-kick.
And they grabbed a winner in the 73rd minute when Nour Youseff showed good feet to dispatch past substitute keeper Medbh Ryan.
